Fantasy or Reality?

When we were first married we had what I termed to be a very idealist marriage. Everything was going my way. I didn't work, I went out with my friends every day and had a grand old time. I had agreed to pay the bills and see that everything was maintained. Well, bills came in once a month and they don't have to be paid right away, they can wait. The burner is working so it doesn't have to be looked at since that would take time from shopping. The appointment with the doctor, isn't necessary I can do it later when I don't have a date with the girls. Well, my life as easy going as I knew it to be was about to take a sudden unexpected turn.

My loving husband came home, in the middle of the day, unexpectedly. "Honey, did you pay the bills?" He said perusing the mail.

"Of course." I had hidden them in a draw in the living room.

How about some lunch?" he asked.

"You should have called. I don't have time, I have to meet Lyn at the mall. There's plenty of leftovers." I could see he was not pleased, but had accepted my explanation. "

When will you be back?"

"Aren't you going back to work?"

"No, I though I'd take the rest of the afternoon off and spend it with my lovely wife. Being the boss has it's privileges."

"Oh, Hon, you really should have told me."

"Is it too much to ask that you stay home one afternoon with me?"

"I promise I'll make it up to you. What do you say to getting away this weekend."

"You know that I have to make flight reservations so that I can leave Friday for the convention. I'm beginning to think that I have to make an appointment to see my wife."

"It would have helped." I said almost under my breath.

"What did you say?"

"I would have loved to help at the convention." I piped up. He frowned at this. Was he suspicious?

"When will you be home?"

"I don't really know." I had never had a time limit, but I had always managed to beat him home.

"All right," he said looking at his watch. "Be home at 5:30." I suddenly realized his demeanor had changed.

"Steven," I whined. "I'll never make it home by that time."

"What's going on here? Since when do you put your friends ahead of your husband?"

"All right, I'll be home by 5:30," I said with the annoyance showing in my voice.

"I have a good mind to make you call your friends and tell them you won't be meeting them this afternoon, young lady."

"You wouldn't dare!" I challenged.

He picked up the phone. "Dial!"

I was going to have to try something else if I was to get out with my friends.

"I'm sorry, if I promise to be home by 5:30, would you let me go?"

"5:30 no later?"

"I'm sorry that I was rude and nasty. I promise, I'll be home when you tell me." I left the house seething that he had the nerve to tell me when I had to come home.

The next time I made a conscious attempt to look at my watch, it was 6:00! "Oh my G-D! I have to go, I promised Steve I'd be home at 5:30." I raced to my car and was home an hour later, due to being stopped for speeding.

I walked in the door to see a very angry Steve waiting for me. "I can explain," I said dropping my purse on the table and walking past him into the kitchen. "I'll make supper right away."

"Supper can wait. This can't." He pushed the credit bill in my face. I paled. "I called the airline this afternoon for reservations and do you know what they told me? I can't use my card because it hasn't been paid in months! Whose fault is that? I think it's about time we made some changes around here."

What type of dressing would you like on your salad dear?" I tried in vain to turn the conversation, unsuccessfully.

"I'm addressing you, and right now I want you attention."

"I'll take care of the bill right after supper." I tried to move away from the table, because of the feeling of being trapped.

"There are a few other bills that have been neglected as well." He placed the pile of bills on the table in front of me.

"I see you found the mail." I said trying to shrink at his growing anger.

"What did you intend to do let them go, so that you could go out and be with your friends? Well that's all about to change. From now on you're grounded. No more friends, no going out, except with me. The bills will be paid, on time, and if, I only said if I ever let you out of this house again, by yourself you will be home when you're told to, not an hour late."

"Who do you think you are to dictate to me!" WRONG ANSWER

"I'm the one wearing the pants in this family."

"So that gives you the right to rule me! Not on your life buster!"

Steve moved so fast that it was a blur to me. He had me over his shoulder and was carrying me out of the kitchen.

"Put me down!"

He carried me to a chair in the living room and sat down an put me across his knee.

"Don't you dare!"

His answer was a hard swat on my butt. "You're not getting out of this!" He rained a flurry of spanks on me that left no doubt in my mind that he meant it. By the time he stopped I was sobbing. "Now, you know that I'm serious about this. No more friends and the bills will be paid on time, is that clear?"

"Yessss."

"You won't be driving for a while either. I saw the speeding ticket that fell out of your purse."

"Yes Steve."

"Now get in the corner, and think about what you did. Maybe I should mention that this will seem like a walk in the park if I find that you did anything like this again. Understand?"

Well I hoped you like the story. Fantasy or Reality? Bobby
